Exporting a Data Audit Archive Report

Overview

Administrators can create a .csv file containing archived data audit information. 


User Account Requirements

The user account must have Administrator permission to access the Data Audit Trail.

Navigation

  1. From the Home screen, click the System icon.

  1. From the Admin Overview screen, click the Data Audit Trail tile from the Tools section.

Exporting an Archived Data Audit Archive Report

  1. From the Admin: Data Management Audit Trail screen, click the Filers and Export link.

  1. Fill out Filter fields to customize the data downloaded in the Data Audit Archive Report.

  1. Click the Export button to generate the Data Audit Archive Report. The browser will automatically download the file.

  1. (Optional) You may see a system-generated banner message indicating that the Data Audit Archive export may take a while due to the large data set.

  1. A system-generated banner message will appear when the Data Audit Archive export is complete.

  1. Click the More Options icon on the system-generated banner.

  1. From the Attachments pop-up, select the Export Audit Trail link.

  1. The Downloads section on the connected PC will open. The Audit Trail Data Export .csv file will be in a zip folder.
  2. Click the zip folder to access the Audit Trail Data Export .csv file.
  3. From the Audit Trail Data Export .csv file, the following information will be listed:
    • Time (Date and Time): When the object was modified.
    • Performed By Name: The user who performed the change.
    • Performed By Email: The email address of the user who performed the change.
    • Impersonator Name: The user who performed the change when impersonating another user..
    • Impersonator Email: The email address of the Administrator who performed the change when impersonating another user.
    • Object Unique ID: An alpha-numeric used to identify the object throughout the organization.
    • Object Name: The object’s Name property (the object's name).
    • Object ID: A system numeric value automatically assigned to the object.
    • Object External Reference ID: An alpha-numeric string serving as a unique identifier for each record. This ID can be used to import data using the Data Import feature.
    • Object Type Name:
    • Object Type ID: The numeric value automatically assigned to the object type.
    • Object Type External Reference ID:
    • Action Type: The system process used to apply the change (e.g., nightly triggers, etc.).
    • Event Type: The system or user change (e.g., update object, add object, remove relationship). If Evaluation appears in this column, it indicates a field value change.
    • Field Name: If applicable, the edited field name.
    • Before Value: The original value before the edit was applied.
    • After Value: The new value.
    • Value: Additional Data Audit detail.
