Using Gross Floor Area Estimates on Maps

Overview

The Calculating GFA using Polygons on Maps feature allows users to draw an area (polygon) around a building on a Map, creating a building footprint. The system uses the building's footprint to calculate an estimated GFA for the building.

Note:
Users can access Forms from multiple locations within the system.

  • From the Home screen, select a form from the My Tasks section that has a Location section.

Using Gross Floor Area Estimates on Maps

  1. From the Form screen, navigate to the Location section.

  1. Select a county from the County Name dropdown menu.
  2. Enter the name of the building's address in the Location field and select the closest address from the dropdown menu.

  1. A Map Pin will indicate the building's address on the Map.

  1. Select the Yes button on the Would you like to use satellite imagery to estimate the gross floor area? field under the Gross Floor Area section.

  1. Ensure that there is a value entered in the Number of Floors field. The Number of Floors field is required when using the Gross Floor Area Estimates feature.

  1. (Optional) Enter additional information in the Notes field.
  2. Click the Estimate Gross Floor Area button for the system to generate a polygon around the building on the Map automatically.
